About First Flint SDA School

Our Philosophy

We Prepare Students for the Joy of Service

The First Flint Seventh-day Adventist Christian School is operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to provide a spiritually oriented education for children. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist schools. We respect His divine authority and recognize His intervention in human affairs. We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of service in the life to come. To achieve this goal, we encourage each student to:

  • develop a personal relationship with God and his fellow men as stated in Matthew 2:37-39
  • master the basic academic skills
  • value labor, physical and mental, as the blessing God intended
  • cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.

The First Flint Seventh-day Adventist Christian School is operated in harmony with the guidance and direction of the Office of Education, North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

  • Students develop natural curiosity through project-based learning.
  • Students in Adventist schools average
    1/2 grade level above

  • Our Adventist school integrates STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and utilizes technology in the classroom

Our School - God's School

First Flint Seventh-day Adventist Christian School is dedicated to fulfilling the prayer of Christ-"that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:3).

In the beginning, God designed that His children would reflect His loving character to the world. But sin greatly disrupted His plan. "To restore in man the image of His Maker, to bring him back to the perfection in which he was created, to promote the development of body, mind, and soul, that the divine purpose of his creation might be realized-this was to be the work of redemption. This is the object of education, the great object of life" (Education, page 15).

The staff at First Flint Seventh-day Adventist Christian School values the infinite worth of every student and seeks to provide a spiritual environment that will help each one reflect the image of Jesus in his or her life.

Therefore, our curriculum is designed to acquaint students with Jesus Christ. Our curriculum is
accredited by both the NAD (North American Division) and NCSP A (National Council for Private
Schools Association).

We provide students with an intelligent understanding of health, character building, art and
music, that they may love God with their whole heart, mind, and strength. It is our prayer that
everyone who spends time at
First Flint Seventh-day Adventist Christian School will sense that this is God's school and be drawn into a closer relationship with Him.

Journey to Excellence

  • Quality academics
  • Strong curriculum
  • Integrated spiritual and moral content

Safe and Sound

Few decisions are as important—and potentially life-changing—as choosing a school for your children.   Adventist Christian education provides a quality academic experience in a caring Christian environment.

Our History

How it all started...

Prairie Adventist Academy has been providing quality and caring education in our community since 1955. What began as a small group of dedicated Christian parents has grown to the thriving school family that we have here today.  Three families shared their dream of a better educational experience for their families; one that centers Christ, has quality education and builds a community of support and service opportunities for their children as they grow.  One of those families, John & Sherri Brown, donated the land while all three families donated their money and time to build what would become our school.

PAA started with grades 1 - 6, 12 students and 3 teachers.  We now provide Pre-K - 8th grade, 200 students and 8 teachers, along with after school care, an outstanding music program and robust sports activities.

What started small, God has blessed and grown to what we see today.  Our community is one that cares for each student and ensures that the original focus remains - Christ centered education, strong academics and community.

Our School Mascot

The imagery of the eagle is found throughout the Bible, particularly in Exodus 19:4, Deuteronomy 32:11, and Revelation 4:7, and it represents the divinity of Jesus and God's loving care towards His children.  Just as God brings his people out of Egypt and into Canaan, our children are learning to rely on God to bring them out of the captivity of sin in our world today and live lives free of fear and motivated by love.

Our school proudly adopts the eagle of the Bible as our mascot to stay true to our identity in Christ, and to serve as a reminder that all we do should be modeled after His love.
